1-Day tour starting in Montafon
We are delighted that you have decided to embark on this adventure, start from Gargellen and have fun on the trail of the smugglers!
Sporty, demanding, breathtaking – the Madrisa circular tour is a unique border experience. Starting in Gargellen, this Rätikon pass hike leads You at over 2,000 meters through the striking Madrisa massif and across international borders. Where smugglers once travelled, well-maintained trails now offer an impressive nature experience.
The one-day circular route begins at the top station of the Gargellen mountain lifts, continues over the Gafierjoch into the Madrisa area above the Swiss village of Klosters, and returns to Gargellen via the Schlappinerjoch. Around seven hours in a high-alpine setting require stamina and fitness – and reward You with exceptional panoramic views. We recommend joining a Montafon mountain guide, who will share fascinating insights into the era of muleteers and smugglers.
